Pros

There are no positive aspects that can outweigh the poor treatment of employees.

Cons

I worked at this firm for over three years and, unfortunately, witnessed workplace practices that I found deeply concerning. In my opinion, the culture fosters unethical behaviour, favouritism, and a lack of accountability. Certain individuals in leadership displayed what I perceived to be sexist and homophobic attitudes, creating a highly uncomfortable working environment. The workplace seemed to reward those who conformed to a specific mindset, often prioritising loyalty to certain cliques over professional or ethical conduct. Employees who upheld high ethical standards or challenged the status quo often appeared to face hostility. Compensation was far below the value added to the firm, and the workload was overwhelming. Long hours were expected without additional pay, and there were instances where staff were instructed not to record all the time spent on clients. Employees who left before completing their articles sometimes faced financial difficulties, including withheld final payments. Junior staff often appeared to experience significant pressure and intimidation from senior staff and management. This created an environment where juniors may have felt hesitant to voice concerns or advocate for themselves, contributing to a culture of fear and compliance. At times, disciplinary processes seemed to be based on rumours and unverified claims rather than concrete evidence. For example, warnings were occasionally issued or disciplinary hearings held without thorough investigation. In one instance, I observed a case where a staff member was charged with misconduct based on hearsay, with leadership openly admitting they had not confirmed the accuracy of the information beforehand. This lack of due diligence contributed to a sense of unfair treatment and further reinforced the culture of intimidation. This is simply my personal experience, and others may have had different experiences. However, I would recommend that anyone considering joining this firm carefully evaluate whether its work culture aligns with their values and professional goals.
