Pros
A core mission (peacebuilding) which staff and volunteers are sincerely passionate about. The growth each year means there is more capacity to do things that were only dreams a few years ago. There is huge freedom to shape the organisation and build it together The CEO has been there 9 years (and counting) and projects the culture and values of the organisation and pushes standards and innovation Growing capacity and budget of the org, and growing reputation, is attracting better and better quality of candidates in recruitment into the team.
Cons
The growth means there is constant change, so it's important to be comfortable with that. The growth also presents lots of challenges: processes that worked well when the team was smaller are being updated to catch up with larger team realities, but there is still delay with bottlenecks in decisions/capacity. The push for high standards has seen poor performers fired or resigning, and that has created disruption.
