Pros

Big Company on your resume, competitive pay, okay benefits, good work/life balance

Cons

Management and HR is horrible. HR is negligent and does not address your very serious issues brought to them. Team environments are fractured, often putting employees against each other. Management micromanages and has ego issues. Most managers are unfit to lead a team and do not know how to talk to their employees without being condescending. This company does not care about you, even if you are a 10+ year employee. You are expendable. Do not work here.

General Dynamics Mission Systems Response

All employees have different experiences at every company, and we understand that not all of them may be positive. We've been building our business and our culture for over two decades and currently we have more than 12,000 employees worldwide, and a retention rate that is one of the best for our industry. That tells us that, as an employer, we're on the right track. Your perspective tells us what we know – we can always improve – and your feedback will help. Thank you.

Pros

GD-MS seems to win *ALOT* of proposals and contracts. There is always the next big thing at GD-MS.

Cons

Contractors 411: Typically, contracts terminated with no notice. Today will be your last day. Please wrap up your work. It was a very low-rate contract too. Made alot of sacrifices to be on this program. Culture resembled a human wood-chipper ala FARGO. Many senior engineers leaving en-mass. I was asked to take over the role of the engineer who left just prior to my arrival. I called it: I will be next. Good experience once in your life to go thru the human wood-chipper. Toughens you up. However, GD-MS is a great example of how it is that legacy aerospace companies are dying rapidly and startups will be the future in aerospace.
