Pros

General Dynamics has some of the best employees I've ever worked with. Highly intelligent and competent in many areas of information technology. The environment is very relaxed and management is very approachable. Your salary compensation is excellent compared to other companies that deal in the same services and the company is always looking to assist you in growing through educational reimbursements and giving you the time to work towards your own professional development. I have found friends and family while working for General Dynamics and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to work with great technology while helping the warfighter.

Cons

As in any contract job there is always the possibility of being deployed into hostile environments, however at General Dynamics, you don't have to do more than a 4 month deployment at any given time. That is far superior to a lot of other companies that require you to do a year overseas and you may possibly have a job when you return stateside. I think that sets General Dynamics apart and is the only downside I see to the company.

Pros

GD-MS seems to win *ALOT* of proposals and contracts. There is always the next big thing at GD-MS.

Cons

Contractors 411: Typically, contracts terminated with no notice. Today will be your last day. Please wrap up your work. It was a very low-rate contract too. Made alot of sacrifices to be on this program. Culture resembled a human wood-chipper ala FARGO. Many senior engineers leaving en-mass. I was asked to take over the role of the engineer who left just prior to my arrival. I called it: I will be next. Good experience once in your life to go thru the human wood-chipper. Toughens you up. However, GD-MS is a great example of how it is that legacy aerospace companies are dying rapidly and startups will be the future in aerospace.
