Pros

If you were wealthy enough to buy stock 5 years ago, you're happy. Salary is within expected range but only if you have fierce advocates on your behalf and you've been promoted to management.

Cons

This company is successful because it sells generators in a world that's falling apart. It's the beneficiary of external circumstances rather than smart or good business practices. Executive management is completely out of touch with its employee base. Turnover is high and the company doesn't have a plan to keep its best people. In fact, keeping its best people is not a priority for this company. The only priority is maximizing profit at whatever cost necessary including at the expense of its very lifeblood, the employees who make this company successful. Decisions are made without thought or consideration for the long term consequences both in business and HR. The benefits package is far worse than any other company I've worked at. Ignorance and arrogance abounds -- a dangerous combination. The company has a bright financial future, the wealth generated by more frequent natural disasters give it the financial wherewithal to recover from bad management. Don't expect a piece of that success unless you are lucky enough to already be in the top levels of the hierarchy. When a problem is brought to light, each department reaches quickly for another department to blame rather than work together to resolve the problem. Generac is rotten to the core.

Pros

No background checks. Good for people needing a job quickly.

Cons

Where to start? Poor leadership on all levels. A bunch of talk about quality and the customer but are happy pushing out inferior product and dealing with it later, but then blame all the workers (via no quarterly bonus due to impossible metrics they have little/ no control over) instead of correcting the workers responsible. They are SO CHEAP. Cheap in pay, cheap in providing what employees need in a timely manner or if ever, cheap in benefits, cheap all the way around. They want drones, not humans. Very high turnover rate. A lot of promises and little follow up. If you sign up for the annual company picnic and cant make it, they take money directly out of your check for each person signed up to go. Poor training. Reactive, not proactive.
