Pros

Flexible hours and remote work.

Cons

Executive leadership doesn't value employees which explains the company's high turnover rate. In the past year, 3 project mangers have quit. Although, weekly time sheets are submitted there's no guarantee that you'll actually receive pay for hours worked. Nor is there a guarantee that you'll be reimbursed for client deliverables even with proof of receipts. Anyone who considers working for this company should request a copy of all policies before accepting the position and have a written contract that aligns with the company's payment model.

Pros

Everyone that currently works for Genealogists.com is 100% committed to achieving the best possible results for our clients. Many take a personal interest in making sure that quality research is done and that the client's research objectives are achieved when possible.

Cons

There really are no cons however Genealogists.com is always looking for professional researchers, especially those with formal education and training who can conduct research and write quality reports. Good researchers can be kept very busy.

Pros

I've work as a contract researcher for this company. On the plus side it is nice to get contracts that I don't have to look for, they just come to me as stringer work. The cases themselves have been very interesting and as long as you are careful not to work more than the estimated hours the pay is acceptable when you consider you didn't need to advertise nor do you interface directly with the client. The people that I've interfaced with at this company have all been extremely pleasant and friendly.

Cons

This company seems increasingly disorganized and my impression is that this is due to there being more volume of clients than there are employees to manage them. On the one hand this means that there will, presumably continue to be work, on the other hand they really need to make it workable internally or they will begin to fail to meet customer expectations.

We have definitely had some growing pains. Growing from a handful of genealogists to over 860 professional genealogists, expert archivists, skilled historians, legal experts, and religious scholars working in thousands of archives around the world has been so small feat. Add to this the fact that what we are doing has never been done before, namely the establishment of a network of skilled professionals who can access the over 90% of records that are not online. As a result, we cannot apply the best practices of other firms to help us as we are true trailblazers.
