      Pros

      Geisinger takes their commitment to employees seriously. The health benefits are outstanding, provided through the insurance arm of the organization. The company promotes growth from within and continuing education, including tuition reimbursement. Overall, the employees are kind and care deeply for the patients, clients, members and their community.

      Cons

      Some departments have incredibly high turnover, especially in the support areas, and many of the locations Geisinger has properties, including the headquarters, are in small towns. Although bigger cities are within a 2.5 or 3 hour drive, it's still some distance away. Some may have a difficult time adjusting to small town life, and many employees within the organization were born, raised or moved back to the area of employment.

      Pros

      Worked fully remote which worked for me. Great health benefits. Worked for health plan not clinical.

      Cons

      Limited opportunities for growth without a college degree. Typical corporate where they cut resources and make big demands. Many long time employees which I thought was a pro at first, but realized they are stuck in old ways and don’t really want to hear a fresh new perspective or even spend time developing new people. As someone with ambition and interest in contributing, I felt stuck, limited, and bored.
