Pros

Family friendly place filled with senior staff that have been here a long time and are happy to mentor the younger staff entering the industry. Well established teams with a long track record of successful projects. Good "no strings attached" profit sharing program for all staff.

Cons

Sometimes technically challenging projects, but nothing a good team and hard work can't handle. Some would view the office location outside of downtown as a plus, others would not. GLE has been renovating and improving the office campus. Workforce is a little skewed towards senior staff base but has been increasingly hiring and training juniors and intermediates.

Pros

The people were the best part of the job. I had the privilege of working with supportive, hardworking coworkers and collaborating on some great projects.

Cons

This was a good place to work until management changed. Since then, leadership has become disengaged and tends to avoid addressing workplace issues, leaving employees to handle challenges on their own. There are notable concerns around professionalism, particularly in how some leaders communicate with their teams. Interactions can feel intimidating or, at times, disrespectful, which has led to low morale and a workplace culture where employees are hesitant to raise concerns. It is challenging to work in an environment where support and recognition are inconsistent. Some workplace behaviours create ongoing stress for employees who must deal with them daily. Looking back, I wish these concerns had been escalated more formally; however, I chose to move on. It’s unfortunate, as many dedicated employees deserve better support and leadership.
