Pros

Being with Gardyn for over a little over 5 years now, I've experienced first hand the transformation it's made over the years. The one thing I've always loved are the 5 pillars it stands behind. I've been allowed the opportunity to be independent and know my choices in the moment are trusted. I've come to embrace radical candor, where feedback is a staple in driving real connection and improvements without retaliation. It's a common ground that drives change and real conversations. I have been given opportunities to grow, room to learn by mistakes and make decisions that are making an impact. I'm so proud to be a part of this diverse company, working side-by-side with incredibly talented people that are all focused on the same goal.

Cons

Working 100% takes time to adjust to. Setting boundaries for work life balance is so important and being flexible to different time zones. Working asynchronously is an important adjustment working at Gardyn. It can be challenging at times but if you're willing to adjust, it the most amazing and rewarding company to ever work for.

Pros

Customer-first culture: The company genuinely cares about customers, and it shows! Gardyn consistently receives amazing reviews and top customer ratings. Mission-driven: Working on sustainability and helping people grow their own food feels meaningful and impactful. I could never grow plants before Gardyn. Now I can, and it's hugely satisfying. Innovative products & tech: Exciting opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge hydroponics, hardware, and AI. This also means you get to work with experts across many fields, and it's quite unique to see that in such a small company. Work-life balance & flexibility: With 90% of the company remote, employees enjoy unparalleled flexibility and a strong work/life balance. Engaged community: Customers are passionate and vocal, which makes the work rewarding. We constantly get actionable feedback from our customers, and they help us make it a more valuable product every day!

Cons

Not a con for me, but might be for some: this is an incredibly fast-paced company and growing startup. If you prefer a highly structured, corporate environment, this may not be the best fit.

Pros

Remote workplace is a positive but it's truly hard to think of much else.

Cons

The company continues to fail to receive funding and the business model is a failure. Customers hate the subscription model and the CEO does false advertising. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Kelby does not see what you're growing, even though their ads continually say it does. Micromanagement is insane. The CEO doesn't listen to customers, perseverates on words in marketing materials, and hires smart people to tell them what to do. He should be focused on fixing the business model, listening to customers, and listening to the smart people they hire. They've gone through their entire marketing and product org multiple times because he refuses to allow them drive. The pay is not competitive and the very small stock grants will likely be worthless.
