This company’s hiring process is either incredibly flawed, or it’s been overrun by favorites who are good at manipulating upper management. Directors and managers lack experience working in other companies or departments, as well as any real management skills. As a result, they’re poor at handling their responsibilities and tend to push all the work onto their teams, micromanaging employees while contributing little themselves. If someone on their team does perform well, they’ll go out of their way to highlight any mistakes, even minor ones, to discredit that person. Ironically, samples turn out better when people ignore the director's instructions and follow the opposite approach.
