Pros

If you are young and eager this is a good place to grow quickly with LOTS of hard work. There were lots of nice perks before the pandemic, those are mostly gone now. They still have good health insurance. They pay well. If you travel you will have nice dinners. Coworkers are nice, hard working and friendly.

Cons

Long hours, most of which are sitting around waiting for upper management to meet with you or sitting on zooms with managers who micromanage you. Expected to be working 24/7 and punished if you have a life outside of Garan. Do not work here if you have kids (and you actually want to see them). Cannot use corporate cards for buying samples or traveling. Have to lay out your own money and have the company pay you back, which could take months. Their whole work culture is outdated. Instead of trying to change after the pandemic and figure out how to work smarter and be innovative, they just yell at everyone for not working hard enough and bought a bunch of big tvs to do zooms(but they can't afford to buy water for the office.)

Pros

The general office environment, decor, and snacks are nice. Salaries are higher than most competitors, and the health insurance and retirement benefits are very good.

Cons

This organization has significant leadership and cultural deficiencies. There has been an unsustainable amount of staff turnover and reactive restructuring. Former leaders who brought strong creative direction, innovation, and positive team engagement have all exited, affecting morale and continuity with retailers. Decision-making is highly centralized, with no autonomy for teams. Creative direction is driven more by a specific individual's preference rather than by customer insights or market data, leading to misalignment with retail partners and requiring the work to be started over. Frequent last-minute changes and reactive shifts in direction make it difficult to plan and focus on outcomes. At the senior level, there is a lack of clarity around long-term strategy and expectations. At the team level, workflows are regularly disrupted, resulting in working nights and weekends, often with no visibility into the reasoning behind decisions. Overall, the combination of high turnover, inconsistent direction, and weak leadership makes Garan a difficult environment in which both the business and staff can succeed.
