Pros
Teaching staff were friendly and helpful. I was not compensated enough for the stress, anxiety, and pressure to perform I experienced at this job, but my compensation was satisfactory for the type of work I was hired to do. There were some admins who were great colleagues, but they were outnumbered by the ones who were frustrating to work with and sometimes outright cruel.
Cons
Where do I start? While teachers are great, administration is a big old mess. They are out of touch with staff and faculty, but that’s the least of it. They did not support me in my work, but instead gave me more work than one person could reasonably handle (as corroborated by colleagues), then fired me when I couldn’t keep up. There were 3 weeks between the time I was told my performance was sub-par and the time I was fired, and no performance improvement plan was ever offered or discussed. I’ve never been so poorly treated by an employer. Your mileage may vary, but enter at your own risk.
