Pros

If you love people, this is the job for you! You’ll have the time of your life. You get paid based on the number of players, so I’m usually around $30 an hour. Shifts are two hours long. Most venues (bars) provide free drinks. You’ll also receive tips (I usually get between $20-$70 a night).

Cons

If you’re shy, this probably won’t work out. You’ll be on the microphone in front of dozens of people. You will spend some prep time before your two hour shift, and you must use your printer and own ink. Mileage isn’t paid (though you can tax deduct it.)

Pros

It's a fun gig! The crowds are all people out to have a good time, so it's a lot of fun.

Cons

The pay is really low. You're paid as a contractor, so expenses are on you including some of the consolation prizes. By the time you pay mileage and buy the things that you buy (they buy some items, you supply others), your $20-$24/hr goes to $12/hr in a hurry.
