Pros
- The colleagues are great because they only hire spontaneous people with affinity with games.
- Informal working environment.
- The fun conversations you sometimes have with customers over a hobby (gaming)
Cons
-Customer is always king, even when they disrespect you. I guess that rings true for every retail job, but at GM you're expected to go above and beyond for every customer. Sometimes, they really don't deserve it with the way they treat you, but you are still expected to be perfectly kind.
-Also, if you're a woman, there are tons of creepy, stereotypical gamerguys that try to hit on you or try to figure out if you really know anything about gaming since you're "a girl working in a gamestore".
- Minimum wages
