Pros

International exposure to a cross section of business leaders, global travel and opportunity to engage different cultures, individual growth through results based account management, great team to work with as far as employees are concerned

Cons

Inconsistency: Company values say one thing and directors preach that gospel but the reality is different because actions differ from the script- feels like an old boys club arrangement Poor communication: decisions are arrived at from a textbook perspective- from reading what other people did or are doing. Their is no regard for the input from the staff on the ground who are best placed to tell you what the situation is and how to manage trends Work approach is arcane: you are required to give your all for the company which is okay if you want to grow professionally and as a company. What is not feasible is how they demand it be done- you are basically to harass clients into buying from you. The powers that be have refused to evolve with sales as a service- it is no longer a heavyweight bout involving the number of calls and emails to get results but an intricate dance balancing relationships and solutions The focus for a part of management is cost reduction: all profit is channeled back to HQ with no care for or trickle down to the teams that broke their backs to achieve it Untrustworthy: as far as money is concerned GSM has a very poor reputation. They look for ways of getting out of paying commission and if one insists on dues they find a way of paying less

Pros

Interesting company with a great social mission. Commission structure is a great incentive to stay focused and keep working hard. Great team; everyone wants to win.

Cons

6:30am start time can really be difficult to juggle if you don't live close by.

Pros

There really aren't that many reasons to work for GSM Systems unless you are looking to be in a very aggressive sales environment with little to no help getting work done efficiently and effectively.

Cons

This company is run by brute force which makes sense since their founder and managing director is a rugby player. Not that being a rugby player is a bad thing, but you just can't manage a company the same way. This same guy does not care one bit about his employees, he treats people with such disrespect that you question who brought this person up, zero manners and zero compassion. To his defense, he was an amazing salesman. There is practically no vacation time here and a work/life balance is non existent. You start at 6AM and are allowed to leave at 4PM but it is frowned upon to leave at 4. They used to pay for gym memberships but took that away. They pay for your breakfast ($5) but took that away for a while when sales were down. The company claims to Ben pro team environment but yet they promote poaching of accounts. There are snakes and they will poach your deals and screw you over. If the "snake" is a top salesman, management will let it fly as they only care about money. The morale of the sales team is very low and will easily cloud your judgement and bring your morale down too. The sales team talks a lot of trash about the company and it seems like not one person is truly happy there. Hate to be so honest but this is all the reality at GSM Systems.
