Pros

From 7 years of working at GSK, in 4 different teams I found overall it to have a supportive culture which encourages development and gaining breadth as well as depth experience. GSK offers women-specific initiatives to try to help the balance to have more women in senior roles. Also, there is a well-established wellbeing programme and supportive environmental initiatives.

Cons

An ambitious company with huge organisational changes every couple of years meant that some talent was lost and cost-saving decisions meant that quality in some services suffered as a result. Like many large organisations, HR has been outsourced meaning that you have to raise a ticket to get help which means that no-one person takes accountability for the issue, whereas previously you had a dedicated HR support for your area of work and you could talk to and meet in person with a human which made life much easier and the advice was of a much higher quality.

Pros

Can't emphasize enough how approachable, non-judgmental, and supportive the team is, both managers and colleagues. Everyone genuinely cares about your holistic professional development and growth.

Cons

This may seem unrealistic, but I genuinely did not have a single negative experience during my time here.
