Pros
Decent benefits. Great peers to work with.
Cons
My time at GS1 US revealed some deeply rooted challenges that impact both employee morale and overall effectiveness. One of the most glaring issues is the low morale across teams, due to ineffective leadership at the VP level and above. Senior leaders often seem disconnected from the day-to-day realities of their teams, and strategic decisions are made without transparency or input from those doing the actual work. Career advancement opportunities are minimal at best. Promotions and growth often feel arbitrary, with internal mobility limited. Career "development" is being given more work and responsibilities without increased pay or position. Talented employees either stagnate or leave for better opportunities—something that is happening more frequently. The disparity in how the Dayton office is treated is also troubling. Despite being home to many capable and dedicated professionals, the Dayton team is often overlooked, reinforcing a second-class status that affects morale and engagement. Perhaps most concerning is the steady loss of experienced and long-tenured employees. Leadership seems content to allow valuable institutional knowledge to walk out the door.
