Pros

They are pretty hands-off (you get freedom in terms of lesson plans) and the there are volunteers to help you in the room. It's only one day a week. It's an active job, so you're not bored. If you enjoy teaching, it's fun.

Cons

The money. It's pitiful. I get $154 per day, which, with lesson planning, evens out to about minimum wage. Teachers do not get any breaks during the day. The money is less than what a substitute teacher makes. There is no discipline system allowed. Senior management makes a LOT more money than teachers (60+k compared to $154 a day)

Pros

Great mission, believes in really making a change within the city

Cons

Would highly not recommend. Hired for a temporary position not even as a staff to help support. Leadership does not know what they are doing. Does not have systems in place, tried to overwork people who aren’t even part time staff. Not realistic on the amount of work they outsource and the worst part, leadership talks down to staff. Belittles and is very condescending. When something is pointed out as a flag to improve operations for better systems, improving staff conditions and performance, it was met with insecurity and harshness from leadership. Does not take feedback and again terrible in respecting others.
