Pros

During my short time at GNC, I enjoyed being able to communicate with customers and help them according to their individual needs. I enjoyed that feeling of helping someone on their fitness and health journey by giving them detailed information of what each product does and helps with. I consider myself to be a social person and I do enjoy talking with people and having nice conversations. I really enjoyed that aspect of the job.

Cons

My gripes with this position were the poor training and lack of professionalism among coworkers. When I first started, I felt that I would be trained on how to do the job and how to be a good sales associate. I thought that I would be shown through hands-on training of what I needed to do each day. Boy, was I mistaken. I was basically told to read a bunch of instructions, guides, and content on my own and do the job without any help or guidance. I was often criticized about my performance even though I was trying my best to do the job right and be a good employee. Additionally, when I first started and had very little experience, my manager would just disappear for lengthy periods of time and would leave me to tend to the customers and operations of the store on my own. I had some very stressful and hard experiences during my short time at GNC.
