Pros

Some projects are interesting but people in the management can decide if you are in those "interesting projects ".

Cons

It's weird that this company asks for 4 quarterly check-ins every years, which means you need to have one quarterly check-in every 3 months with no real progress. They did it not because they cares about your development but because they need to push you harder to utilize you to the maximum while giving you minimal increase every year. My salary is 30k lower than the market since I have been here for 4 years, and there is no reward, no compensation no matter how hard you have worked. They keep you work extremely hard and their unlimited sick days has been turned into 6 sick days per year. They also have high level security of IT to control their data, also I don't think it's a good thing. Lots of hierarchical tasks, Health&safety check-ins for no use...most of the time it doesn't have to have any benefit and they let you do those work repeatedly. Doing for them, and no reward for you. I really have no idea how their management operate this company, do they plan to get maximum money in the short term or let people all go in the long term? Their turnover rate is extremely high-every one to two years you will see a lot of new faces. People came here for hope but ended up being desperate.

Pros

Great starting point as an internship, gives you good experience to the professional and consulting world, pay for an engineering intern is satisfactory. Values of the company and support from coworkers is appreciated. Seems to be a psychologically safe place to work and make mistakes. No noticeable workplace toxicity or politics. Everyone seems to be authentic and chill. Not noticing anyone keeping their heads down and received reports of satisfaction with work environment from coworkers. Exposure to a variety of projects, including field work experiences. Seems to be a solid resume builder.

Cons

Need to be pretty proactive for work. For me who enjoys having work to do, its kind of stressful. You have to take initiative in making your own plan. For someone who thrives in structure and needs a bit of help in planning, this is a struggle. Limited flexibility in doing a hybrid role (even though job description stated it was when I applied) For someone who is 42 mi from the office and with heavy traffic takes 1h 15 min to reach the office, its a struggle. But I understood that my commute time is longer than average when I took the position.
