Pros

True to agency form the company tries to take care of its employees with empathy towards needing to have a good work/life balance, whenever someone needs time off it is usually accommodated. (i.e. working with Epic Pass to get their employees affordable ski passes) Gcom hires employees who do not always have prior experience, which is a great way to bring people into the industry who may not have attempted it if not given the chance. In my department we all strive for success for individuals and the group, as well as keeping Gcom in good terms with our clients. The processes are collaborated and not just written by a single manager/person. Gcom takes care of us when it is not required. Food, paper products & coffee are all provided to the employees as well as equipment when requested.

Cons

Also, true to agency form sometimes processes and communication are not ideal, but that is actively being remedied (sort of a pro). There is a terrible PTO/holiday program. There are some holidays that seem ridiculous to not automatically have PTO and working from home should be utilized more on these occasions if the PTO is not viable. The contracts and work orders are written poorly and leave employees high and dry to take the brunt of client dissatisfaction. We need to be able to hold clients responsible when applicable or at least cover Gcom. On that note, it appears as though clients do not actually know what they are signing up for during the sales/scope phases, the contracts and ISD's need to specifically lay out all steps of the process and what is required of the client throughout the next few months of communication and information passed to Gcom. There is a huge disconnect of knowledge of CMS use throughout the company, all AE, AM and PMs should be able to use the Wordpress CMS (at least for minor edits & issues). It would be ideal to have seminars/training on this. Each time a site launches and the CMS training happens that would be a good time for anyone who wants to join to just follow along.
