Pros
Not the highest salary but ok. Very low paperwork burden. Very easy to access Safety Management System. Generally still a good standard of managing ships. Christmas gift. Office Staff visiting the ships are quite low key.
Cons
Rieber shipping has no employees - all employed through an in-house agency and another very large agency with worldwide branch offices - so the notion of being in a pension fund that dates to 1914 is something of an utter misguidance on the companies own site. Changed the permanent contracts to 6 month auto-terminate contract and reduced sick leave benefit by 1/3. Employing exclusively SE Asian staff (through agency) in all jnr positions for several years now so the writing is on the wall there.
