Pros

Location was in city centre

Cons

Graphic Designer Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow My experience with this company was unfortunately quite negative. From the beginning, there were signs of an unhealthy workplace culture — including an inappropriate comment about my name from the owner. Sadly, the situation only deteriorated from there. I learned that the person in my role before me had left due to an unmanageable workload and negative treatment — notably from the same apprentice who was later assigned to support me. I experienced inappropriate behavior from this individual, including offensive comments and interference with my work, especially during travel between sites. Despite raising concerns, no meaningful action was taken. This person regularly undermined my experience and expertise, despite my qualifications (BA, MA, and over 20 years in the field). Over time, I noticed changes in how I was treated by colleagues, which contributed to a growing sense of isolation. The environment did not seem to support collaboration or address workplace conflict effectively. Recognition for hard work was lacking, and problematic behavior often went unaddressed. Although my manager often spoke about the importance of health, this was not reflected in how situations were handled. I worked through pain while awaiting surgery and received little understanding when I needed medically recommended sick leave. On returning, I was met with a noticeably colder attitude, and no support was offered regarding my health or wellbeing. The management structure did not seem equipped to handle these kinds of challenges, and decision-making appeared driven by short-term goals over employee welfare. In my view, this organization struggles with valuing and supporting its employees. Workloads can be unrealistic, pay is below industry standards, and appreciation for contributions is minimal. There also appears to be a lack of genuine commitment to Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. If you're seeking a respectful, supportive, and professional work environment, I would advise approaching this company with caution

Pros

There were some friendly and supportive colleagues, which made the day-to-day working environment more positive.

Cons

There were very limited opportunities for progression or meaningful career development within the business. The culture felt strongly sales-driven, with this often being the main priority in decision-making. Expectations on employees continued to increase over time, but this was not always matched with appropriate recognition or reward, with end-of-year appreciation feeling minimal, such as receiving a small voucher rather than a more substantial bonus. Management effectiveness was inconsistent, and there were many instances where feedback, advice, and concerns raised by team members did not feel acknowledged or acted upon. In addition, workplace conditions were not always maintained to an acceptable standard, with facilities such as bathrooms at times being extremely unhygienic.

Pros

Some staff members are great to work with and work as a team.

Cons

Some executive management should not be given the power they possess (based on some knowledge they lack) . Making people redundant so that other jobs can be created and funded does not make for a growing and stable company, this creates havoc and uncertainty within the company (Staff members do speak to one another and dirt is always uncovered)
