Pros

An excellent group of people, nice building, strong benefits package. I get the sense that (flexible work accommodations aside) the compensation is at least competitive. Strong culture, real commitment to inclusion and social responsibility. I would have probably given the company 5 stars a year and a half ago.

Cons

Post-COVID, GAF has been trending in the wrong direction. There was an abrupt transition back to 4 days a week in-office (and the impression that it will eventually be 5), with no credible rationale provided. Morale was the lowest I'd seen during my tenure, and there is a sense that more layoffs are on the horizon. The average age of leaders within the company seems high. Key hires are being made from outside the company which does not inspire confidence for long-term career growth and all the changes that will need to be made once a lot of leaders retire.

Pros

Great company with supportive and talented people, an excellent work/life balance, and a positive culture. I truly enjoyed my time there and will miss it, I really loved working at this company.

Cons

Some processes and team structures could benefit from further modernization, particularly in expanding Agile adoption compared to leading IT organizations.

Pros

Cafeteria food is decent and the building is nice

Cons

This place has really gone in the gutter over the years, hard to see how it will turn around. If you’re thinking about joining, the industry is Good but I’d stay far far away from GAF
