In my experience it is important to look at several aspects of a company when reviewing. Company Direction - The company is coming out with new and exciting products. - Unlike a lot of tech companies, specifically in the security sector, Futurex stays focused on its roadmap. This has allowed for products that change the market to be developed, even if it takes longer than some public companies can afford. - The company has demonstrated that it hires the best. Everyone in the engineering, marketing, and SA team are extremely intelligent and focus on bringing new, successful, products to the market. Management Direction - The CEO and CTO work closely which has allowed the company to increase its market share greatly since it went private in 2001. The CEO is very focused on the business side and supports the technological direction outlined by the CTO. - As the company has grown, an experienced mix of Directors, Managers and Leads have focused on their individual groups. This focus is another reason why Futurex has continued to grow and succeed with its different offerings. - This growth has opened up the door for extreme opportunity for individuals to lead new teams and business units. On Stability - Again, Futurex is extremely focused on continuing the success it has seen over the past several years. This focus requires teams that are dedicated to the projects at hand and loyal to all they work with. Not everyone has the drive and work ethic needed to succeed here, but those that do, enjoy a management team that share this same dedication and loyalty. - The average tenure at Futurex far exceeds that seen at most tech companies. While it is common to see "company hoppers" at other companies, Futurex rewards those who show loyalty to their team. - When I was going through the hiring process at Futurex, the hiring manager specifically wanted to walk through my education and work history to understand any gaps. It was obvious that their goal was to find someone who not only has the technical aptitude to keep up, but also for someone who is looking for a life-long career. On Atmosphere - Futurex employees enjoy a serine campus with unique perks. This includes a gym membership, too many company outings to count, and a campus that rivals the technology giants found in California. - While the company is diverse, I believe everyone at Futurex would agree that the best thing about working at Futurex is the employees. I have seen this as a common theme throughout all other posts, even from employees that have left the company. I think this is extremely important to take note of.
Cons
- Futurex has focused on innovating the industry, specifically in the hardware encryption and key management markets. The concepts required to understand this technology are vast and demand time to learn, even for those who have been in the industry for many years - Advice to those who are just coming onboard: Just stick with it! While the technology is complicated, eventually everything will "click".
