Pros

Professional atmosphere with room to advance, but stay below the radar. My salary and benefits were very good. Job as Assistant Project Manager on large industrial construction projects was extremely stimulating, and coworkers were tops. HR Office was very helpful in setting up unemployment documents. Also, Fusco was willing to pay for employee trainings, and university.

Cons

Very much a corporate atmosphere, meaning, each person has sacrificed a little bit of his or her soul. Do not stand out, definitely do not ask 'why' or 'why not,' and remember that you will have no loyalty from the company if/ when your job can be eliminated. Creativity is not really an asset. One will do better to follow the established system.

Pros

Long Wharf is a beautiful building with some great perks and good views. I didn't experience any pressure to work extra hours in my position, so there was no problem with work/life balance for me.

Cons

Sometimes I wanted to throw myself out of those beautiful 14th floor windows. The culture here is competitive in a bad way, departments don't work together, everyone is too busy looking out for their own interests, and it leads to a cutthroat, backstabbing mentality. Although I didn't work closely with senior management, I'm guessing it comes from the top down. I routinely encountered behaviors from managers that suggested distrust and bad faith, and there was a pervasive sense of fear. Management pays lip service to innovation and new ideas, but prove to be invested in the old ways of doing things. It was very stressful and unpredictable to work here, and I was relieved when I left. Benefits and compensation were minimal at best, and there is little to no room for growth.

Pros

None with the exception of an occasional free pizza lunch.

Cons

I left due to medical reasons. I had not wanted to come back initially after my first day I was employed there due to the negative work environment but I did go back. I was informed by other employee that the company has taken a nose dive (both morally and financially) since the original owner passed away and the descendants have taken over. Office environment was primitive. In my twenty years’ experience this was one of the oddest and cheapest companies I have ever worked for that seemed to be stuck in a few past decade. Lack of reviews from Corporate Dept. due to terminated long term employees employment with original owner and their lack of knowledge with outside company review websites. -Nothing given back to the employees to make them feel like they matter. No decent benefits ex. Medical benefits practically nonexistent with only 20% thereafter covered by the insurance company provided by Fusco after a huge deductible and a large mthly premium paid by the employee. Worst benefits I have ever seen by an employer ever; -Out dated office environment and Accounting Department are made to climb a flight of stairs daily due to no access to floor and denied access to an elevator going up; -Out dated software by 15 years i.e. Microsoft software and Accounting software, unbelievably true; -No job security for loyalty: 4 long time employees (30 plus years admin) terminated when virus started. Not all employees are treated equally. You are treated according to how you bring money into the company; -Inaccurate job duties that left you puzzled as to what your actual job was. Most days I sat at my desk trying to find something to do, to stay awake, due to lack of any challenge with no tasks. Yet you were clock watched; -Archaic 40 year CFO, low balled salary, no delegation of duties to others, micromanager with constant distrust in employees; -No work at home options (Virus) due to this distrust in employees by CFO and owners.
