Adapted PE Teacher - Adapted PE Teacher Fulton County Schools Employee Review

Pros

The position gave me a year of experience teaching physical education to disabled children.

Cons

The position required me to travel to 5 different schools within Fulton County. I drove 250 miles in five days. I moved from Michigan to Georgia after accepting the job and did not know my way around the city. The first week I had much difficulty finding each school and arrived late to some of them. In 1987 we did not have GPS and it was more difficult to find places in a new area.

Pros

You get a wide variety of schools to work with.

Cons

South Fulton and Alpharetta are really far away from the city center, and there can be a lot of favoritism in those areas. Paraprofessional pay is very low, and that can sometimes be the only thing that is available on Aesop. You may barely have a break to take your lunch - 30 mins or so.
