Pros

Frost was my first event company in NYC, and it's a relationship I intend to keep up for as long as I work here. They are kind to employees, ready to train people on new skills, very flexible and understanding in the event of schedule conflicts or injuries, and reasonably consistent in workload throughout the year. Leadership always takes the side of employees when it comes to dealing with clients and there are generous care policies: travel reimbursements, even for regular travel; meals, snacks, and refreshments on many (if not the majority) of calls; long-standing relationships with clients and venues, making the actual work go much smoother; and lots of interesting events, if you actually want to pay attention during the shows/lectures/awards/whatever. Even though starting rates might be low, it is very easy to train up to higher skill codes and make a case for a raise.

Cons

Scheduling can be erratic. Winters and mid-summers can be absolutely DEAD. Very difficult to join the team as anything but a freelancer. Calls vary widely in terms of labor requirements, which aren't always fully communicated in advance. Quality of experience DEFINITELY depends on the crew leader on a particular job. HOWEVER! This is an event production company, and a lot of this is par for the course. The only persistent issue that I would identify is then quality of advance communication—and even then, it depends on the crew lead.
