Pros

Management leaves you alone most of the time if you ask the questions that they can't answer, like why the company line doesn't match what actually happens or the way things (don't) work.

Cons

Management became management because they couldn't stand to do the real work anymore. They networked their way up and now are just comfortable holding on to the job and benefits as the clock ticks toward retirement. The less they have to deal with the better. Forget about sending in suggestions or pointing out problems because that would require effort which is to be avoided. They would rather be covertly browsing the internet or talking on their phone with friends and family which is not permitted, at least for the common folk. When the you-know-what hits the fan, and the result of being non-proactive and not planning ahead hits home, it's like an anthill being stepped on - running around, having emergency meetings in the aisles about what to do, and giving conflicting orders because there is no time or desire to think clearly, just to look busy with something. They just want it to all go away so things can get back to normal. Forget about learning anything from it that would be useful next time. Better to just forget about it as soon as possible and handle it when it happens the next time. This is called leadership at Frontier. And because they don't feel in control, they compensate by throwing out rules and reminders regularly to everyone, which is insulting to responsible people. The company comes first, not the customer, unless it's convenient. The extra mile turns into a kilometer or less when the cost of doing it right is too much trouble. I used to believe that leadership was setting an example for the workforce, not being a privileged group that didn't have to live by the same rules and principals as the people doing the work.
