Pros

In small teams, one is afforded the opportunity to engage in diverse tasks and acquire substantial knowledge. Additionally, teams such as marketing and customer support appear to consistently experience positive work environments. The hands-on and amicable approach of the Operations Director is consistently evident throughout interactions with all team members.

Cons

Throughout my professional tenure, I encountered challenges while working with a tech lead and project manager whose methodologies did not align with best practices. The tech lead's reluctance to assign pivotal tasks stemmed from concerns regarding my availability to address potential system outages outside of standard working hours, owing to the lack of compensated overtime and a salary package below the industry standard. Subsequently, my professional growth was hindered as I was restricted to tasks that were overlooked by other team members. Furthermore, the project manager, who also functioned as a UI/UX designer, lacked substantial experience in the tech domain and only possessed an 8-week boot camp exposure to UI/UX design. Despite this, her unwavering confidence in her abilities often led to the dismissal of my perspectives and suggestions. In instances where her designs proved ineffective, she replicated my proposals without due credit. Additionally, her propensity for micro-management necessitated exhaustive explanations for the duration of tasks and instilled unwarranted doubts regarding my professional expertise. In juxtaposition, my previous experience with the operations director, who demonstrated trust in my decision-making and acknowledged his limitations in technical matters, was markedly positive.
