Burn-out ("we're a family") and nepo culture with no room for growth - Operations Fridababy Employee Review

Pros

The office in Miami is magnificent, there's a ton of perks of working from there such as a lot of free snacks, constant catered lunches, and in-office programming on different weekdays (Tuesdays -pedicures/manicures, Thursdays - blowouts, men's haircuts and 15-min massages). You "wear many hats" - so if you're young and inexperienced you have the opportunity to learn a lot very quickly... but I warn you it is a sink or swim culture....

Cons

Low pay for all that you do. No boundaries - you WILL get Slacked/called on weekends and holidays, nepotism culture where a lot of people at the "top" are good friends with CEO and president but severely incompetent and poor leaders. The product timelines are truly insane so no matter your job is (design, sourcing, supply chain, quality, marketing, etc.). You will experience high stress on many occasions. There is also very little accountability for decisions made by top management, which goes hand in hand with the low transparent culture. After about a year or so, if you're a high achiever you'll be looking to grow or move up and 9 times out of 10 you'll realize there is NO ROOM FOR GROWTH and there is also no path to grow at this company - bad if you're in your 20s imo. If you stick around you will most definitely burn out. Out of the goodness of my heart I say this - if you value your mental health stay far away from this company. They are doing amazing things for parents everywhere with the products they manufacture but it comes at the expense of their 130-something employees that they overwork and severely undervalue. Not to mention the awful chinese factories they overwork to meet their tight timelines. Another big con is the tight grip the CEO - Chelsea- has on everything. Mostly every design decision has to be approved by her in these nerve wracking "design review" meetings. She many times goes back on her original direction and changes things up on the team with very little time left to execute. I admire what she's built, but I could never respect the way she behaves towards certain team members and how she operates in these design review meetings. Additionally, they hire a lot of "managers" and "directors" with not so many doers... so people (myself included) burn out trying to manage their team and also be an individual contributor....even the HR team makes a big joke of how bad the work-life balance at this company is. All this to say... there are so many cons to working for Frida, if you're up for a challenge, and you're young with no kids, no family, then you might be okay, but be prepared to leave within a year or 2 after you burn out for no reason and realize there is absolutely no growth opportunities.
