The people are lovely and the pay is great. Cafeteria has incredible food at a reasonable price.

Work is very bureaucratic, but that’s to be expected at an embassy.

Excellent opportunity to work in French-American diplomacy. Employees have a good amount of responsibility and the chance to make real programmatic decisions with lasting impact. Lots of vacation.

Heavy bureaucracy, next to impossible for local hires to advance in their careers, salary not competitive in comparison to similar work at other organizations in Washington, DC
