Pros

Very kind employees and co-workers

Cons

Too much overtime, low-optimized pay (for the amount of hours you might potentially work), and likely difficulties moving up in seniority for certain locations/departments. Most workers are great. However, there are lots of members doing senior-level tasks, yet aren't properly promoted to that level. While some of the senior members are true specialists, some definitely aren't fit for the accounts they are assigned to. There seems to be confusion as to identifying and compensating the truly skilled. I do have to say that so much has improved over the past few years but COVID-19 really hurt everyone in the events industry, Freeman no less. It was devastating to see and experience the lay offs.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We will always depend on and value our talented, dedicated employees who are committed to evolving, building relevant skills, and helping rebuild the company to drive growth. We deeply empathize with you and our other employees who have experienced layoffs in light of our recent business restructuring. COVID-19 has had a significant effect across the globe and the live events industry has been particularly vulnerable. The employment decisions made in response, including furloughs and layoffs, were very difficult but determined to be necessary to maintain the long-term health of the business. We appreciate your commitment and contributions to Freeman during your time with us, and we wish you all the best moving forward.

Pros

Work life balance can be good at times and then it could be horrible. Opportunity for career advancement is there if you wait it

Cons

Salary is not great considering the amount of work we do, plus salaried positions do not make any OT money when we have very long weeks working on show site. Yearly annual raise is 3% which is nothing. The only significant raise you can get is if you get promoted to a more senior role. Also the traveling becomes brutal when you are gone for 10 or more days at a time for these shows.
