Pros

Not at this time to mention

Cons

I just wanted to tell my story. I don’t expect anything and I’m not asking for anything just the ability to explain what happened. I was hired as a contract employee at the end of May this year. I was a floor planner in the NRDC department as a part time employee through Aerotek. I was scheduled to work 7 hours days and was expected to work between 30-35 hours a week. When I started working for Freeman my son was only 5 weeks old but I had help and I wanted to return to work. Everything was fine. Towards the end of my time, I was struggling with my hours because of my son and other personal reasons. I had explained to my supervisor about the issues and everyone seemed to understand. I didn’t miss a full day of work until last Tuesday, September 4, 2018. On September 6th last week my son was rushed to the emergency room from daycare where later that night he had passed away. Maybe I’m just hurting and still in shock. I don’t feel like he’s gone and it really hasn’t even hit me yet fully. I was reported as terminated by notification from Aerotek that day. I guess I’m just kind of lost and I don’t know what else to do. I have never esperienced a loss like this before. I miss my son so much. If you want the details of his passing I can provide that information but I just wanted to reach out to someone who would listen. You don’t have to take this any further and I don’t want my job back. I appreciate you listening. If you would like to contact me you may email me at anytime. The only thing I have the power to do is make sure I tell my story and hope someone will listen. I’m sorry I let the company down.

We are so very sorry for your loss and know that this must be a very difficult time for you and your family. When you are ready, and if you have the desire, we encourage you to work through Aerotek to find another position that you feel you are qualified for. You are in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathies.

Pros

The pros were the per diem and the opportunity to travel. I really enjoyed visiting new cities and collaborating with kind, interesting people from across the country at different show sites. The pay was also very strong during busy seasons.

Cons

If you want to join a company where employees are undervalued, expected to obey rather than think critically, and favoritism is openly visible, then please avoid this company. The environment often felt heavily micromanaged at every level of leadership, with experiences of both covert and overt racism in the workplace. There was also a strong sense of competition and distrust among coworkers, where people would undermine one another for personal gain. Leadership and upper management appeared far more focused on optics and appearances than the actual well-being of the employees working on the show floor.
