Pros

Flexible Scheduling and Vacation - not a traditional policy, as long as you have coverage and give notice, you can take what you need - however, they are tightening the belt on this. There are so few employee's left that one person's absence can interrupt business for the entire day. When there are no disasters occurring - it is a very relaxed atmosphere

Cons

Attrition - Very high turnover - there were nearly 50 people when I started, we are now down to 19 employees. Many left because they saw the writing on the wall - those who stayed and tried to fix things were let go - few were righteous terminations. This means you are constantly absorbing additional responsibilities, but your pay will not increase to reflect this-- EVER. Staffing - The hiring model is find people that barely know IT, and run them through the ranks - this means a lot of client interactions are escalated, even for simple issues. There is not enough staff to support 24/7 support and there is no 2nd shift employees, meaning you will get a lot of phones calls after-hours. Senior techs are often overloaded on projects with no prioritization or guidance-your deadline is always yesterday. Reputation - Fpweb.net has developed a bad reputation which is affecting sales and retention. Hours - You are expected to work demanding hours, especially in the event of outages which occur often. it is not uncommon to spend Days in the office or datacenter troubleshooting- yes, I said days. Much of this has to do with not adhering to industry standards and best practices. Poor Leadership - most everything is controlled by the CEO/owner who micromanages every department. He surrounds himself with people who will not say no, and creates an atmosphere where doing so means fear of termination. Unrealistic expectations - Expectations of your roles and responsibilities, policies and practices change very often. You will not be aware of this until you have not met that expectation. Severe lack of process and procedures - Many things being done here are not industry standard, or best practice. This often leads to poor uptime and bad customer experience. There is an utter refusal to change because of the company culture/fear of failure. Speaking out against the crowd is frowned upon, and many good employees are let go because of this. Nothing is documented, and most projects and interactions are not properly managed, meaning its all up to the unfortunate soul who was given the task, and if they do it wrong-it will stay that way forever.

Pros

Investment in training for team members. A family atmosphere with regular team and learning events to build culture. Refreshments are stocked to keep everyone fueled up.

Cons

We are smaller, so we have to choose how we spend our time wisely and remain focused on the key objectives.

Pros

Flexible schedule, bonuses, company events, ability to learn what you want to learn. The pros are the benifits of the company and if you do not have a technical background they do not care. They will teach you the clicks as they put it. Which means they can give you a career if you can put up with the cons (if i could give this 2.5 stars i would).

Cons

Shady business practices. They will sell anything to get someone's business, even if they do not have someone who has any experience in that area. This stresses the engineers out especially if they are new to IT, MSP, and technology as a whole. You are expected to answer you phone day or night when you are not on call when the on call person cannot solve an issue. Very little acknowledgement when you do go above and beyond to help after hours work when you are not on call.
