Pros

You can make some good friends. Some people try to do the right thing but are undermined by poor leadership.

Cons

"If they fear for their job its probably a good thing, as they are more than likely not doing a good job" "I'll sack the lot of them if they don't come in at the weekend" "If you don't resolve it, it will be terminal for one of you" Sadly, these are some of the comments made by members of the technology leadership team. It summed up their attitude towards employees and made a mockery of the supposed company values. That, along with an overbearing need to measure everything made it not a great place to work in the end.

Thank you for your review although naturally I am disappointed to hear your feedback. We are certainly not perfect but one of the things we always try to do is to listen to our people. Over the years, that has a proven a very effective way to become a better company. We recently released a video and training programme about our performance philosophy with specific attention on what we expect from our managers. The first point on this was 'we never rule by power or fear but instead empower people to deliver their best work'. Fourth is fuelled by collaboration with people all over the company genuinely invested in making everything we do a success. I am pleased that you were able to make some good friends here and I am sure those relationships will last for many a year. If you would like to discuss any of the above in more detail, I would be very happy to do so with you.

Pros

Very few pros come to mind, there were some great people on the individual contributor level I worked with across multiple teams however many left or are on their way out.

Cons

This is a highly toxic and disorganized work environment. Leadership’s lack of knowledge, direction, and experience is apparent. When I started, leadership was disengaged and disconnected to everything. I noticed there was a sudden and obvious change in leadership’s approach where “urgent” asks from above were being requested with little to no context. Unrealistic and changing expectations started being communicated as the norm. This caused confusion, chaos, and burn out, resulting in extremely low morale across teams. Concerns and feedback were either ignored or people were penalized/suddenly terminated for speaking up. Lastly, it doesn’t go unsaid there is no work life balance or professional boundaries here. This is a work environment that sets people up for failure and can have a serious impact on overall well-being.
