Pros

- Work can be meaningful as Foundervine truly does make a positive impact in underrepresented communities - Through working with a diverse range of start-ups, there are plenty of opportunities to expand your network and learn how to take a business idea to market - Majority of staff have a high degree of empathy, are ambitious, and passionate about helping underrepresented communities succeed in enterprise

Cons

- During my employment, junior employees were paid below the London Living Wage despite the company having London Living Wage accreditation. I believe this has since been addressed - Work/life balance is hard to achieve due to the non-stop work culture. Expect to receive emails at unsociable hours - Building upon the previous point, you are expected to work using your personal computer. This means you are exposed to workflow 24/7 and may feel expected to work during unsociable hours - Instances of staff missing GP appointments in order to attend stakeholder meetings - Junior members of the team were expected to manage multiple programs concurrently without adequate: training, support from senior staff, and monetary reward

Thanks for your feedback and we welcome constructive comments on our organisation. Regarding London Living Wage, this is fundamentally false, we have transitioned from a company of volunteers to a business that can pay above London Living Wage and more. Regarding work/life balance we have a culture of pushing towards goals, personal development, and being somewhat fast-paced. We're still a startup and every team member plays a significant role in our success. We do not require people to work out of hours answering emails but we do occasionally have periods during the year where some out-of-hours work is needed. This is always however given back to you as Time-Off-In-Lieu. We also have a generous holiday allowance of 30 days minimum for all employees. We now issue laptops to staff, previously team members were permitted to use their own laptops. There is no longer a need for this but people can use their own devices subject to approval. We would not condone people's health being sacrificed for work, this is not something we are aware of and would not support this if it was raised. We provide training and guidance to team members before putting them on programs and projects. If we do not provide this, it would pose a big risk to our operations. We're trying to change the face of entrepreneurship at Foundervine, and that's not a small aim. This means that we have lofty goals, big dreams and a team of passionate staff who drive towards this. We recognise that not everyone thrives in a fast-paced culture and for us, that's completely fine. We offer high levels of challenge and support which ultimately result in massive growth of team talent, skills and achievement of potentials.
