Lots of time with animals, you get to shadow other departments and learn lots. A lot of responsibility is given to the interns which helps prepare you for future animal work.

Working outside in Texas heat, it's manageable but be prepared.

Lots to learn about each individual animal. Everyone is supportive to helping you learn and give tours.

no downsides, just low pay but that's expected as an intern.
