Pros

- Good benefit package-- one of the better ones in NL outside O&G....too bad that's it.

Cons

- Horrible pay in comparison to similar jobs at other companies. Very bottom line driven. - Managers are either overworked heavily or do very little. Chances are you'll be the former. Oh yea, no pay for overtime either. - No job descriptions. They will tack on any title(s) just to fill the gaps, which shows how much they care about your career. They wanted me to do more than two jobs for a measly pay...as if that was going to happen. - Middle management has no teeth and quite a few of them don't have a clue what they're doing.

Pros

There are many people here that are helpful, kind and friendly as far as coworkers go. I love helping the students learn. The small classes have provided an excellent learning environment and opportunity to get to know students individually and address their own personal learning styles. Diversity and inclusion and acceptance of others is practiced and important and I love that.

Cons

The company is owned by a corporate that controls everything from the curriculum to the access to supplies to your time and pay. I experienced a loss of pay due to hours being cut and work very hard and am dedicated, but expected to work for free and not be reimbursed for my time or supplies. When you do get a few supplies here and there, you have to keep asking for a year, nothing comes in advance in preparation for a quarter, which means a lot of money is spent out of the instructor's own pocket for everything from tape to markers to your own desk to important lab supplies to perform laboratory experiments. After the most recent cutback, as an hourly pay employee, you are only paid for the time you are literally instructing/lecturing. You are not paid for grading, preparation, recording lessons, preparing PowerPoints, preparing for or cleaning up after labs, time spent advising students, responding to student email, or anything else you do for the school.
