Pros

As an overall organization, Forter is fine. The product team and the people team are solid.

Cons

The Forter marketing organization, to put it kindly, is a hot mess. The CMO is in over his head and has brought in a team of unqualified “leaders” across marketing which has lead to chaos. Much of the team lacks direction and clarity and there’s a constantly revolving door of tension and frustration that is fueled by favoritism and ignorance from the CMO. This all has lead to a toxic and unproductive environment. Marketing leadership is quick to point fingers and let others take the fall for the teams shortcomings but fails to realize that they lack fundamental marketing skill let alone leadership skills to support the team. At Forter, as a marketer, you can expect to spend your days spinning your wheels trying building up programs, content, reports, projects, etc. just for it to get thrown out. If you enjoy a slow paced and divisive culture, this is the place for you!

[From our CMO] Gosh, that’s a really painful review to read. I’m troubled when anyone in my organization has a negative experience and I take all feedback, including this review, seriously. As a leader, I’m only willing to point a finger at myself—I certainly have plenty of shortcomings. But I’m very proud of the marketing team, which is populated with good humans who work incredibly hard and are high impact. In the past year, the marketing team has grown from 10 people to more than 30 people, with zero voluntary attrition and a very high employee engagement score. The functional leaders are exceptional marketers who lead with kindness. My focus is on creating an environment where everyone on the team feels included and can do their best work.

Pros

Great company culture in office in nyc, we have other offices around the world but can't speak much on those, there is a great emphasis on culture, no toxicity at all from what I've seen. Great benefits, half day Fridays every week in the US. Upper management is extremely transparent on how the company is doing with frequent all-hands meetings to share big picture progress.

Cons

Not many cons so far.
