Pros

This team is comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds who are tired of the typical agency grind. The work is rewarding and presents opportunities for professional growth, often resulting in promotion to leadership roles. There a sense of community within our team despite working remotely since the pandemic started. We celebrate our wins and embrace our together. Leadership invests in our culture and people. Our benefits are pretty generous for a small company: great pay, fully covered healthcare, generous PTO, 401k, financial wellness, and professional development programs just to start. In the last few years we launched our parental leave policy, allowing me to take paid maternity leave! This team values your work life balance. When they say "Family comes first" they sincerely mean that. As a working parent, it's so important to have flexibility. If you have a family emergency or if you're sick, rest assured that you will be supported.

Cons

Fort West does not follow templated guidelines to our work as many traditional agencies do. We are always challenging ourselves to identify the best tools, process, and approach to our work which results in shifts in the way we work. This has caused some frustration and turnover of those who need structure. The most successful people at Fort West are those who are solution oriented and resilient as we evolve. Embracing evolution with an entrepreneurial spirit is key in this organization. If you are looking for the traditional agency experience, then Fort West is not be the place for you.

Pros

Good people, doing very smart and quality work. Portfolio has a nice balance of B2B and B2C client work. When the industry struggled over the last two years, the CEO took zero pay in effort to protect the team as long as possible. We still had to do layoffs, but leadership showed real concern and effort to keep the team together.

Cons

In the past, leadership experimented with new ideas, products and services. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, but these experiments made the company too broad for it's size, and took away from building depth in our core competencies/services. That said, the company has recentered it's focus has become a lot more efficient.

Pros

Glad to have gotten paid through a talent agency.

Cons

CEO forgot to mute his microphone to talk trash about my work despite me following the direction of the creative director.
