Pros

Generally pleasant atmosphere, modern work environment. Free lunches 3 times a week.

Cons

Chris and Jason are still very wet behind the ears and therefore don't really know the direction they'd like to go in. Many ideas are reacted to without fully thinking them through. Pretty major growing pains, processes that just aren't there or leave too much to be desired. Beware "the dots" (personality testing). After this was implemented people started dropping like flies due to not fitting personality profiles for their current jobs. People that had been in their positions for some time were being let go and replaced. Hypocrisy on social media and to the media in general. Many of the self quotations (yes, they frequently quote themselves) they throw around about business theories/philosophies/practices are not actually being implemented here. The sheer number of meetings is absolutely mind boggling, especially considering they have historically preached about the amount of time removing one meeting from your week can save you. It's bordering on having meetings about meetings.

Pros

I worked directly with the two leasing managers in Houston and assisted with all facets of leasing, from marketing to tours, leasing meetings, and so many other things. The internship also hosted a Fort101 real estate course that would meet remotely each week with all of the different sectors of the company and learn about how they operate and who they are as people. It was a unique part of the internship that I enjoyed. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into real estate, especially brokerage/leasing. The Houston office has a great work culture and has great people working there so I enjoyed going into the office every day.

Cons

This is not a con since Fort Capital is a Forth Worth-based company, but I was the only intern in the Houston office, so sometimes I would be on my own. However, Fort Capital is a rapidly growing company so I anticipate they will bring more people to the Houston office in the future.
