Pros
Faculty and staff and individual departments are dedicated and student centered in spite of the adverse working condition the most recent administration has implemented.
Cons
Buzz words: transparency, diversity, equality. Working definitions = poor communication and constantly being kept in “the dark”. Employees are constantly on edge wondering what change is around the corner from day to day. Change can be good if methodically implemented. Too much change in to many places at one time without guidelines or a solid foundation has leads to chaos. Which has led to employees being left to take the blame and the administrations refusal to take responsibility. Senior management has NO diversity, but instead a tight knit group of bullies with their own agenda. Promoting unqualified and holding back institutional knowledge. Lack of respect for state guidelines, no moral compass for processes or other opinions outside of their own. NO equality or consistent guidelines for equitable growth, regardless of years invested, high ranked yearly evaluations or institutional knowledge. There is NO structure, NO stability, NO confidence left within what use to be a GREAT reputable institute. Faculty and staff have felt forced out in order to lower employment cost. Offered “early retirement” with no incentives. Previous days that were issued due to no raises have been revoked along with many other “benefits” that were previously issued to make up for the lack of pay or yearly raises. Employee base has dropped 50%+ in the last 3 years. (Not due to Covid). People are leaving either because they do not feel they have a choice or to save what is left of their mental health. You are NOT valued. You can and WILL be replaced at a lower salary. Clearly no longer an institute to create a “CAREER”. The very core of what we are suppose to be educating for our students future.
