Cons
It's heartbreaking seeing what happened to Forethought, both in terms of business outlook as well as culture. Senior leadership seems to be flying by the seat of their pants and overvalues "yes people"; top-down communication and transparency are rare; the product seems to be getting less stable and more bug-ridden; and multiple layoffs followed by consistent departures have led to an overworked, under-resourced, burned-out employee base. The generative AI boom has resulted plenty of interest from prospects, but the insanely crowded market means win rates and morale are lower than ever. Most employees sense that the execs don't really know what they're doing and are aloof to what most employees care about and are concerned about. They also get irritated whenever there's critical feedback or questions, which is why the only way employees feel safe bringing up that feedback is when it's anonymous. Everyone is tired and the culture is in shambles.
