Pros

Benefits (health, dental), annual "health and wellness" benefit (yoga, golf membership), pension contributions, parking spot, air travel between the office on home for some positions, 4 weeks vacation to start.

Cons

Training is flouted as a benefit but is routinely and regularly denied. The maximum annual salary increase is 2% and is controlled by the provincial government. There was a decade-long hiring freeze over the last decade.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and experience. As a public sector agency with an important role marketing B.C. wood products to the world, FII strives to create a healthy corporate culture and a competitive employment package. We are a high performing workplace, and our staff do work very hard. We provide interesting and meaningful projects, and the support and guidance needed to succeed. As a flat organization we invest in our staff to empower them in their roles, and to help them develop the skills they need to excel, whether they contribute to our organization for a few years or for the majority of their careers. We recognize that the high expectations we have for our team may not be a fit for everyone and acknowledge that a small public sector organization may not have the flexibility, high salary or large annual raises that the private sector can offer. Over the past several years employees have shifted to the private sector, accepted leadership positions in other organizations, become independent consultants, or retired, while several others have returned to FII after a period of working elsewhere. We appreciate your feedback and wish you well in your future endeavours. Michael
