Fonteva fosters a hostile environment for its employees. It's a company that is run by a former CPA, so every penny is carefully watched and productivity is measured by hours spent, not quality of work. Management will flat out yell at you as if you are a dog. The sales team sells ghostware and expects the product team to develop features they've sold by the time the customer finishes implementation. This creates a constant level of high stress between product and implementation. Project managers are put into the worst position between customers and the company. While the CTO is brilliant at Salesforce development, he's challenged by inexperience managing a team of developers and building a roadmap for the product. Oh sure, it may look like a cool place to work with super nice recruiters, your typical tech snacks and frat-boy like camaraderie, but the reality is that it's a nightmare. Turnover is extremely high because anyone who works there full time can't wait to leave. You will be micromanaged down to the minute even for salaried employees. The benefits are poor because it's a small company: can you say $5,000 deductible? And the worst part is the dishonesty. When you leave they purposely omit the fact that they will not pay out your vacation time until after you leave and ask about it. Their answer is that they don't have to by law. This is a strategic decision to not tell you ahead of time so that you can't negotiate this bizarre policy in your offer letter, nor allow you to use the time before you leave the company. ****If you're a current employee looking to leave, be sure to take all your vacation! My only advice to you is take this job if you have no career aspirations and can stomach working for a company where you will dread coming into work.
