Pros

There are a lot of pros about this place. I've worked for 2 other agencies and they were sweatshops. They gave 1 role to more than 1 recruiter, they made it so you had to make 50 calls in a day, you had to get your own clients, the commissions were bad. It actually put me off recruiting. As soon as I met with the executive team at Focused Staffing, I liked them. They treat their staff well, they give you a role that no one else is working on. If I'm having a hard time with a position, they work with me to get it moving again. And they pay better than the other agencies I've worked for. I've been here for 3 years and really like it.

Cons

Agency recruiting isn't for everyone. I've worked on the corporate side and it's very different. On the agency side, if you're not getting people hired, you don't make much money. Also, there are times you've worked on a role for a month or two and then the company you're working with fill it internally. That really sucks.

Pros

They have a really good system. They make placements. The management style is pretty laid back and they let you get on with your job. Management helps when we're having trouble, but also, all the recruiters here are so nice and everyone helps each other. It's not like other cut-throat groups. Super nice people.

Cons

They seem to work on only the really hard jobs. Like when the internal recruiter can't fill the roles because they're just too hard for the Client, we then have to work on those roles. So, every single role is hard and challenging.

Pros

Vigorous training regimen They teach you everything to their own methodology They're very sensitive about their Clients and making sure that every single role that they take on, is given white glove treatment Even the top level executive recruiters take the time to come in a teach and train the new guys. You wouldn't expect these guys to take the time because of the load they carry, but they do.

Cons

If you come in as a Recruiter, expect to unlearn everything. They have a different approach. So, it's not the best place for a corporate recruiter who places jobs and leans on referrals. This place is a serious head hunting agency. They micromanage until you're to their standards - which I do see the point because they have a strong bond with their clients - it's just that they won't let you completely go on your own until they approve of your quality. This can take years. They have a draw system and at the end of the day, the Recruiters there make bank, but it's a commission based place.
