Pros

International company with many different cultures, great people. The company over all seems to care about their employees, the head of HR is an amazing kind heart person. That being said Fluor is a large company and I can only speak for what I've seen being at the corporate office.

Cons

Politics run the show... to the point that job your boss wants you to have, could be over run by someone else's suggestion because the suggestion comes from someone more senior than your boss who suddenly knows the department better than your current boss does... I have seen many professional friends lose positions they were promised due to "suggestions" from higher ups. Fluor is a good company to work for, it's just sad to see politics get the best of people sometimes.

Pros

Good for starting and ending a career in engineering — solid training and plenty of software available. Good benefits and WLB.

Cons

Most projects are PreFEED, so lots of generic work, and they tend to overhire for these projects. It’s hard to make it to the middle ranks here because of the overhiring and layoff on contract loss cycle. The 980 schedule is actually meant to be a 10-hr day, as they began to emphasize the importance of taking lunch. TOWP and sick days are lumped together and earned on an accrued basis, so vacation days are valuable in the beginning. You can be paid your vacation days at the end, too, when your salary is higher… the consequence is that people come in sick all the time.
