Pros

- Cool and unique product of EdTech industry - Good mission - Great customer engagement

Cons

Currently very high turn over on the engineering team, people are leaving with various reason, although I think most of them do not agree with the way top management or founder manage the engineering team. - Very bad management, both mid or top level. - A lot of secrecy and no-transparency at all. - A lot of unfair treatment around certain people - obvious favoritism. - Be careful with the benefits, looks good on the paper but not so much in reality. - Initially, when I hired Flocabulary offer unlimited PTO after a year work anniversary but then change it to two weeks PTO (I just figure this out on my first week) - Slavery work culture, like other reviewer mention - there is no work-life balance. Most of the employees are expected to work late or long hour and even Flocabulary implemented working hour slot (~ 9 hours) which is weird for startup (do they hourly wage employees?).

Pros

-Great company mission - rewarding -Unlimited vacation after 1 year of working with company -Casual dress code

Cons

-Unfair treatment around promotions/raises/new titles (favoritism)- very inconsistent across org -Company is growing really fast - lots of new hires over past year who are not properly trained and on-boarded on current company structure, internal processes, how departments communicate/work together, internal systems and the product itself (especially leadership/managerial level positions)! This has complicated and interrupted workflow countless times across the entire organization. -Limited room for career growth -Unimpressive holiday pacakage. For example: never have off Veterans Day, very mediocre summer Friday policy (especially for a startup/tech company) with only 4 summer Fridays the entire summer. -Work-life balance - most employees stay late/are expected to stay late (at least it feels this way). On Fridays no one leaves early, ever. This is weird for a startup considering most NYC Corporate companies encourage employees to leave early on Fridays. Office doesn't clear out on Fridays until 7pm. -No transparency from management, lots of secrecy -Mediocre annual raise package -Management is never in the office - or if they are, they don't make their presence known. For such a small company, this greatly affects morale and gives off the sense that management doesn't care about the company/employees
