Pros

It’s hard to know where to even begin. Working at Flight Story honestly feels like being strapped to a rocket and handed the controls. The pace is intense, but in a good way, you’re trusted, you’re challenged, and you’re expected to step up from day one. I’ve been given more ownership and trust in my first few months here than I had in years at previous companies. And that’s not just a nice sentiment, it’s real. I’ve had direct feedback from the founder on a Thursday, made changes that day, and then seen those changes being used in major work that reached millions the next morning. The feedback loop is rapid, but it’s fair and great if you're someone who wants to learn really fast. There’s a deep culture of experimentation here, if you’ve got an idea, there’s a good chance you’ll get the green light to test it. If it works, on to the next one. If it doesn't work it's no big deal and you'll be applauded in slack by everyone for trying. That approach, combined with the founders obsession with iteration means we never stay still and it’s genuinely exciting. You’re not boxed into a narrow role either, I came in focused on one thing but now I do events, but have had the chance to contribute to culture strategy, hiring, even bigger company direction. It’s mad how involved you get across the company. Also, the level of talent here is wild. It’s like working with Olympic athletes - a colleague uses navy seal analogies alot, and that's across every department. People really care I feel safe, appreciated etc. There's a "gratitude" slack channel where people post about you when they want to say thanks which is nice. You’ll see someone crush a massive win and the whole team genuinely celebrates it. In my first week the founder who's really really really busy came over, sat down and spoke to me for what felt like an hour and seemed to really care, unexpected DMs from the founder saying “that was world-class” also means a lot. Lastly, there’s an underlying mission behind everything – we’re not just building for money or metrics. There’s a shared belief that we’re creating something that could shift culture, support entrepreneurs, tell better stories, and help people live healthier, happier lives. That really matters to me.

Cons

You’ve got to be good at managing yourself because no one is standing over you telling you what to do, the expectations are high. Some people will love that, others might find it too much. You’ve got to like figuring things out on your own. Stuff changes quickly, and you’ve got to be ok with that. One week the process is this, the next week it’s shifted and we’re doing it better because the company is growing so quickly, I think there's been 10 new people since I started, and I'm new! That’s part of being in a company that’s growing fast, but it can take a minute to get used to. Also, the founders set the bar high, they're very clear about what good looks like and sometimes it can feel like there’s always another level to push to. Which is great for growth, but if you’re someone who needs constant reassurance, it might take a bit of adjusting.

Pros

Everyone on the team was nice

Cons

Never got paid, multiple people on the team they still owe money to and refuse to pay. They owe over 20K to ex-employees
